bad eye, good coffee

[fair warning, dear reader. what follows is another in the long list of "i'm tinkering with the look of the 'blog,' and i don't know what i'm doing" entries]

i'm tinkering with the look of the "blog," and i don't know what i'm doing. you and i both know that the new banner looks ridiculous, that i have no eye for design. i'm going to work on it though. i have ideas about the way things should look around here, but my halfhearted efforts to... er... execute that design fall short.

no apologies for the unabashed vanity, though. that picture of me Me ME! comes from the double r diner in twin peaks, washington. or, as the purists would have it, the mar-t cafe in snoqualmie falls, wa. or, as the locals would have it, twede's cafe.

look, names aren't important. what matters, here, is the fact that agent dale cooper had his coffee and cherry pie at the same place.

thanks, fritz, for the photographic artifact.

do not tinker. do we not remember the lesson we learned just last week at silverspiral about destroying the menu/sidebar? and how php, css, and html are all evil and must be destroyed?

why, yes, yes we did. layouts are evil.

Nice pic dave. I think we should hold a caption contest.

"Look at my jawline - now give me some coffee!"

(and feel free to ask for help on the template. i spent hours wrangling with MT CSS in my redesign)

that's a handsome mug. it's welcome in the PNW anytime. i just can't believe i inadvertantly took that picture with my watch! and it really turned out well.

warning! don't eat the brood x if you have allergies related to insects, shellfish, nuts, etc. some guy in jersey was hospitalized. see heck's kitchen for details.
