sore legs

so, last night, natalie and i ran the rockville twilight 8k.

i finished at 38:14, running, on average, a 7:41 mile. 473rd out of 1150 men. 168th out of the 352 in my age group. there are no ultra-marathons in my immediate future, and i'll happily admit to getting passed by a bunch of folks. still, i feel pretty good.

whoo!

THIS JUST IN:

16 H 51 - Armstrong Finishes 1'23" Behind...
At the finish Armstrong is 1'23" behind the stage winner, Simoni. The American will keep his overall lead for the 15th stage.

whoo...

I thought you said you weren't going back to Rockville.

No, wait, that was REM.

dave bo',

i really, trully, shore iz impressed. 7'41''? ev-ery-mile? whew. not the dave i remember. used to smoke 3 packs before breakfast. eat 7 grilled cheeze a day and chase it with coffee. sleep t'ill 12 noon on average and drive his car to his mailbox down the driveway ta git the mail. i guess they said 9/11 would change the world.

by the way, on a totally unrelated note, i came across mr. dylan bromfield dryer's home page by accident:

http://www.uwm.edu/People/dbdryer/

appropriate no? last i spoke with him, he was a phd in rhetoric and chided me for my infatuation with:

http://www.stanford.edu/~rrorty/

could be worse though....

congratualtions on your race...send some "speed vibes' to mr. lance over there in la france. take care dave bo'.

yurz,

rawb bo'

george: i was worried i'd wasted another year, as we drove up there.

rawb: sometimes, i fear that i've been traitorous, that i've failed smokin' dave somehow, that he waits deep down inside, pining for the days of monte cristo sandwiches bookended by cartons of camels and gallons of joe. he is profoundly ashamed of all this "running" business and simply cannot understand why he's not still able to smoke in peace. a shame.
